DescriptionReporting to the Dean and Assistant Dean for Administration, the Executive Assistant will be responsible for providing executive administrative and operational support to the Dean’s office for the Beasley School of Law. This position manages the Dean’s Office operations, handles the myriad of demands and conflicts for the Dean's schedule, and provides high level administrative support to proactively anticipate the Dean’s needs. Executes a variety of complex administrative functions, many of which are of a sensitive, confidential nature. This position also works closely with senior leadership of the School, including Associate and Assistant Deans, faculty, staff, President’s and Provost’s offices, and the general public when necessary. The Executive Assistant will supervise a student worker. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of senior level administrative support. Experience preparing letters and memos on behalf of the executive leadership, and proofreading documents for final approval. Experience managing electronic calendars as well as automated travel and expense system such as Concur.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Required Skills & Abilities:

* Strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of students, staff, faculty and administration.

* Exceptional writing and proofreading skills.

* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and possess professionalism and diplomacy in interfacing with high profile officials.

* Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to manage and prioritize complex tasks, act independently, with a proactive mindset.  

* Ability to learn new tasks and software, and work with minimal supervision.


Preferred:

* Experience working in an academic or non-profit environment.
