The Department of Natural Sciences which is housed within the School of Arts and Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Anatomy and Physiology Lab Instructor. This is a 10-month, non-tenure track position. The expected starting date is August 1, 2020.
Essential DutiesThe successful candidate will teach Anatomy and Physiology laboratory courses contingent to the needs of the institution. Responsibilities include teaching freshman and sophomore-level laboratory sections to support our Anatomy and Physiology lecture courses. Duties may include the development of new laboratory exercises and assisting the Biological Sciences Laboratory coordinator as needed. The candidate will be expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, a commitment to professional development, and to serving students in a collegiate setting. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with others and be willing to teach both day and evening courses at the Brunswick campus or Camden Center location as needed. Other essential duties include: maintaining office hours, preparing lesson plans, lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes, exams, final grades, and attendance reports.
Minimum Qualifications and TrainingMaster’s degree with 18 semester hours at the graduate level in the area of Biology. An emphasis on human biology is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications and TrainingApplicants who demonstrate evidence of recent, successful post-secondary teaching experience, have a strong background in human anatomy and physiology, and work cooperatively with other faculty are strongly preferred.
