Responsibilities:
With supervision from the Assistant Director of Student Activities for Leadership Development, the Feb Orientation Trips Intern(s) for the academic year will assist in developing all aspects of February Orientation Trips as well as plan for Fall (MiddView) Orientation trips. There will be two openings in the Student Activities Office to work as an intern, one planning Outdoor Explorations and another position planning Community Engagement and Vermont Explorations for February orientation day trips.
Both positions will be responsible for recruiting and training student leaders, developing February orientation trips and managing logistics, as well serve as primary contact for all communication with prospective students.
Community Engagement & Vermont Exploration Experience Desired:
-current Middlebury Student
-Experience/ or interest in curriculum writing, and leadership development
-Past experience working in areas including but not limited to: community engagement, volunteerism, and leadership
-Student involvement in Center for Community Engagement, Student Activities Office, participation or leadership in Service Cluster Board student organizations
-Experience in peer leadership roles
-Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to commit to a full academic year
Outdoor Exploration Experience Desired:
-Current Middlebury Student
-Past MiddView and/or other significant outdoor leadership experience, especially in winter
-Current WFA, WFR, or W-EMT certification
-Experience in peer leadership roles
-College van license
-Sense of humor and grace under pressure
-Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to commit to a full academic year
