Course Titles: Financial Accounting, MGMT 073/214 and Managerial Accounting, MGMT 115/215

Job Description:

The Business Administration department at Mills College is pleased to announce an opportunity for an instructor to teach MGMT 073/214 Financial Accounting and MGMT 115/215 Managerial Accounting for Spring 2020. These courses serve graduate MBA, Master of Management, MPP/MBA, and MBA/MA in Educational Leadership programs and undergraduate majors in Business Administration and Business Economics.

The Spring 2020 semester starts on January 22 and final exams end on May 15.

Course Descriptions:

MGMT 073/214 Financial Accounting: Elementary accounting theory, with emphasis on the preparation and interpretation of financial statements.

This course is scheduled for Mondays 1-3:30pm.

MGMT 115/215 Managerial Accounting: This course describes and analyzes the tools available for measurement, control, and planning of business firms. Emphasis will be on the accounting of costs in business. Prerequisite: MGMT 073/214

This course is scheduled for Mondays 7-9:30pm.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications are a Masters Degree in Accounting or an associated field (or CPA). Doctorate in Accounting or an associated field preferred.

Additional Information:

Compensation: For faculty new to Mills, compensation is $6,000 per course without a terminal degree and $6,500 per course with a terminal degree. Adjunct compensation is governed by a collective bargaining agreement and increases with seniority at Mills College.

This is an exempt, part-time position. The compensation includes state-mandated benefits including Social Security, State Disability Insurance, Workers Compensation Insurance, Unemployment Insurance and Sick Day accrual. Employees also receive free admission to campus events, use of the pool, fitness center, and tennis courts.
