Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology
The Biology Department at Oberlin College invites applications to teach one 40 seat lecture section of a multi-sectional course in Biology 100: Organismal Biology during Spring semester 2020.
The Biology Department has 12 full-time faculty with interests spanning biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, development, plant biology, genomics, ecology, conservation biology, behavior, systematics, immunity, and evolutionary biology, as well as two full-time instructors and a large support staff. Biology is one of the largest majors on campus, and complements other life science programs (i.e., Neuroscience and Biochemistry) at Oberlin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and grading one section of BIOL 100. The successful candidate will prepare their syllabus after coordinating with other lecture and lab instructors involved in the course.
Among the qualifications required, candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Ph.D. preferred and successful teaching at the college level is desirable.
