Position Title:  Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Department of Movement Science

Required Qualifications and Education: Doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or closely related field. ABD will be considered with Ph.D. completed by August 2020. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the university level. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a clear plan for their scholarship/research agenda. Service involvement in related areas.

Preferred Qualifications and Education: Experience teaching at a 4 year institution. ACSM, NSCA, or other related certifications. A clear research agenda suitable to a teaching intensive, student centered university. Individuals who can contribute to the Movement Science Department through their teaching, scholarship, and service as well as to the diversity and excellence of the GVSU community are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions: 

Teach 9cr load each term. Will teach a variety of courses that may include: Kinesiology, strength and conditioning, as well as teaching skills in the candidate’s area of expertise and other areas that complement our core instructional needs. Advise and mentor students. Provide service to the Department of Movement Science, Grand Valley community (department, college, university) and the profession. Conduct scholarly work involving undergraduate students.
