A key leadership position in the department. Administers recruitment, selection and training initiatives of professional and student staff members. Supervises professional staff members. Coordinates and directs staff training and development strategies and initiatives in collaboration with other members of the leadership team, and the recruitment and selection of student and entry and mid-level professional staff. Responsible for all staff-related evaluation efforts. Assumes primary responsibilities for development and implementation of staff recognition programs.  

Coordinates the development of policies and procedures for staff and students. Works well with diverse staff and student populations and in doing so establishes collaborative relationships with other departments across the campus that will promote, enhance and sustain a vibrant residential community. Advises student and staff groups and programs. Expected to build internal and external relationships. Operates as part of on-call status and coordinates on-call schedule for staff. Works with students in crisis and connecting to resources. Represents and coordinates our student response and follow up for CARS for the department. Maintains budget in this area. Master's Degree in Student Personnel or a related field required.  

Excellent written and verbal skills. Strong knowledge of student Development Theory and proven applications of theory into practice. Strong computer skills a must. Three years supervisory experience of residence hall staff. Preferred five years progressive residence hall or student affairs administrative experience. Prior experience with working with a large and diverse populations imperative.
