The Department of Cancer Biology is currently seeking an experienced cell and molecular biologist with comprehensive skills in multi-color flow cytometry to conduct innovative experiments in breast cancer research.
The individual will work independently as they process and analyze blood and bone marrow from patient samples as part of a large clinical study, as well as from preclinical mouse breast cancer models.
The individual will actively engage in the experimental design, evaluation, and execution of multi-colored flow cytometry and cell sorting strategies as well as tissue culture and other more specialized cellular technologies.
The individual will be expected to learn and execute skills related to operation and maintenance of the sophisticated instrumentation required for the project.
The individual will be expected to act as an integral part of the team and present their results in an organized and skilled manner.
Hours will need to be flexible due to the unpredictability associated with surgical patients and the availability of certain equipment.
The individual will also be expected to share in more common tasks of DNA/RNA isolation, cDNA/cRNA preparation, q-PCR, and immunofluorescent and histochemical microscopy.
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research, clinical study, project and people management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
