General Description / Primary Purpose

The Director for Student Health Services, under the direction of the Brooks College of Health Dean, provides leadership and guidance for the University Student Health Services.
Responsible for compliance and administration of Student Health Services, including fiscal/budget management. Design and implement departmental strategies and objectives to ensure departmental goals are met. Develop and/or supervise the implementation of programs, policies & procedures and technology initiatives. Serve in an advisory capacity, providing coaching and consultation. Develop proposals, recommendations and reports for senior leadership. Collaborate with senior leaders to integrate departmental objectives that impact the university. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence. Serve on designated University/College committees.

Essential Duties

Job Function

30% Responsible for the formulation, development, direction, and supervision of the SHS staff both clinical and administrative
20% Responsible for budget planning, internal and external communication, SHS facilities, purchase approval, travel health clinic, medical compliance, medical withdrawals and student health insurance
20% Ensure that the goals and objectives of the SHS are communicated and meet the G&O of the Division of Academic Affairs and the University of North Florida
10% Provide travel health assessments and advice for students and staff
18% Collect and review health information for student medical withdrawals
2% Develop a plan to begin third party billing and implement the plan

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and six years of experience directly related to the job functions; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and eight years of experience directly related to the job functions.

Faculty Position Required QualificationsDepartmental Requirements

Preference shown to applicants who meet the required qualifications and also possess the following:

A Master’s degree or clinical doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization with in depth clinical knowledge and healthcare administration experience. and Six years of experience directly related to the job functions.
Preferred Qualification: Past Student Health Experience. Excellent leadership ability and the ability to communicate a clear vision for the continuous development of the department.
