Athletics fundraising at William & Mary is responsible for the leadership & strategy of private philanthropy to benefit athletics programming at William & Mary. The athletics fundraising team is seated in two offices, University Advancement and William & Mary Athletics. The Manager of Athletics Donor Relations / Assistant Director of Athletics Advancement reports to the Executive Director of Athletics Advancement/Senior Associate Athletics Director for Advancement and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Tribe Club with an emphasis on donor stewardship, recognition and hospitality, coordinating and marketing all athletics premium seating opportunities and premium donor areas, donor benefits, gift acknowledgements and stewardship processes.

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree with significant professional level of experience or specialized expertise.
•Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, including but not limited to programming and staffing
•Familiarity with a donor/alumni database and a thorough understanding of setting up processes and systems.
•Strong computer proficiency in a variety of software applications to include MS Office Suite.
•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse audience.
•Possession of diplomacy and tact when working with individuals on and off campus, and responding to donors.
•A wide degree of flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changes and/or upgrades in office procedures and systems.
•Experience working directly with donors in fundraising or political campaigns, or experience working directly with clients in finance, business development, sales, customer service, client services, events, membership associations, PR, or marketing

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience in collegiate athletics
•Significant experience in non-profit fundraising, donor relations and event planning.
•An in-depth understanding of best practices in stewardship and donor relations including analysis, assessment and evaluation.
•Working knowledge of CRM or relational database
