Description of Position

Position is open until filled. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

Provides courier service through safe operation of a college-owned vehicle to other campus locations in the county in a timely manner according to predetermined schedule. Driving route is approximately 118-168 miles per day, currently 3 days per week every other week, no weekends or holidays are worked.

Also performs a variety of non-exempt work related to the functional areas of Distribution Services including, but not limited to: receiving items from various predetermined stops, scanning/logging parcels into electronic tracking system, sorting by department/buildings, delivery to various offices throughout the college, picking up outgoing materials, obtaining legible signatures and maintaining cleanliness of delivery vehicle.

- Typically works within defined procedures and guidelines, receives, analyzes, and responds to inquiries and requests for assistance related to area of expertise. Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users, students or customers
- Explains procedures and provides departmental information for use by others
- Operates and maintains standard delivery equipment
- Maintain necessary reports, documentation, logs

This is a temporary part-time position working 0 - 19 hours per week as scheduled.

Minimum Expectations & Requirements

- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Current driver's license (including good driving record as noted in Motor Vehicle Report, and current proof of insurability)
- Physical ability as defined in Essential Functions
- Customer service experience working with the public, students, faculty and staff
- Experience with electronic devices, such as an iPad, including use of apps and wi-fi
- Ability to perform repetitious tasks with great attention to detail
- Work in a timely matter to get materials sorted and distributed within assigned work hours
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors and managers in person, by phone and email
- Honesty, integrity and dependability in the workplace
- Must maintain clean, organized work area

- Must be able to work and drive in all weather conditions safelyPreferred Skills & Abilities

- Work experience in a community college/higher education work environment
