Position Summary:

The Secretary of the Faculty facilitates, supports, and assists the effective functioning of the faculty's role in institutional shared governance, and serves as the primary liaison between the faculty and the administration.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum of five years of UW-Madison administrative experience preferred, including substantial administrative, coordinating, and liaison experience with university faculty and staff, programs, and administrative units; knowledge of Faculty Policies and Procedures and Faculty Legislation, UW System rules, human resource rules, divisional committee documents, and other governance and guidance documents; excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. Supervisory/managerial experience including budget and personnel, and knowledge of HRS, WISDM, and other UW-Madison administrative data processing systems preferred.
