Seventy-five percent teaching, twenty-five percent research appointment with service activities required for promotion, merit based pay raise, and tenure. Ability to teach traditional and online courses is expected. The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate research program. The applicant is expected to help with improving the Engineering Technology (and future mechanical engineering technology) program including further development of lab and teaching resources, curriculum development, and application for academic accreditation and certification programs (i.e. ABET, ATMAE, SME).
Educational Requirements for the PositionAn earned doctorate degree in Engineering and/or Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology with manufacturing emphasis, Industrial Technology with manufacturing emphasis, Mechatronics or other closely related fields.
Experience Required for the PositionDesired areas of interest include mechanical and manufacturing systems, mechatronics, electromechanical systems, quality control and management, engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid power or other subjects related to mechanical and manufacturing engineering and technology.
Other Requirements for the PositionExcellent communication skills are required. Applicant must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Three years of related industrial, college teaching experiences are preferred.
