Hofstra University is a dynamic community of more than 11,000 students from around the world who are dedicated to civic engagement, academic excellence and becoming leaders in their communities and their careers.Description:Responsibilities include but are not limited to: the review and maintenance of all student records via Ellucian’s Banner and other educational software programs, including Degree Works; review of degree and university requirements and noting of changes, clarification of regulations pertinent to curriculum and standards for faculty, deans, students, and administrators; develops and executes correspondence to students and academic departments regarding requirements needed for matriculation and graduation; assists with preparation of student records for degree conferral, commencement exercises, and ordering diplomas; determines eligibility for honors; processes waivers, grade changes, program changes, diploma applications, letters, permission forms, transfer credits, advisement forms, personal information changes, and all other change forms. Interacts with students, faculty, departments, Provost’s Office, Admissions, and other academic areas. Keeps up to date and maintains knowledge of department academic policies and procedures. Heavy phone and email contact with students, deans, and administrators. May perform other duties not specifically identified above but which require the same degree of skills and which are normally included within the above job title.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
Additional hours required, evenings and weekends, in support of special projects and events.
*Subject to bumpingQualifications:The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have the ability to independently analyze and exercise good judgment. Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills are a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Knowledge of Banner and Degree Works preferred. Knowledge of department academic policies and procedures preferred.
