The University of Redlands Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks a full-time lecturer in mathematics to teach courses in statistics, calculus, and finite mathematics, a total of eight courses per year. The successful candidate must have, at a minimum, a master's degree in a mathematical discipline, preferably statistics, and a commitment to undergraduate education in a liberal arts setting. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to participate in interdisciplinary statistics and data analysis consulting, enhancing the quality of research across campus.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the College of Arts and Science’s general education curriculum.
Founded in 1907, the University of Redlands is a liberal arts and professional institution in a town of 70,000 located 60 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The campus is surrounded by orange groves and sits at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, one hour from the coast and 45 minutes from Palm Springs.

POSITION CRITERIA: Completion of a master's degree in a mathematical discipline, preferably statistics, by September 2020 is required. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a commitment to teaching and experience in data analysis or data science outside of the classroom. Lecturers are expected to provide contact hours outside the classroom that include working with students on assignments and informal advising.
