Part-time Support Staff
Sugar Grove Campus

The Access CenterTechnology Specialist is a support staff position reporting to the Manager ofthe Access Center for Disability Resources. This position is responsible forproviding technology related accommodation support services to Access Centerstudents including but not limited to assistive technology, alternative formattextbooks and course materials, testing accommodations and note taking. Serves as a subject matter expert and partners withcampus stakeholders to consult on accessible web and information technology.

Develop and conduct assessment of assistive technology skills/needs with students.

Make technology recommendations and train students how to use recommended technology.

Ensure timely delivery of accessible course materials including collaboration with other departments and remediation of materials.

Research, preview, evaluate, and make purchase recommendations of assistive technology.

Collaborate with various departments to provide training, consultation and expertise regarding accessible technology, accessible content development and delivery.

Lead or collaborate on departmental projects and initiatives.

Participate on college committees as appropriate.

Maintain appropriate documentation.

All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree required; preferably in Information Technology or education related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two years of technology related experience required.

Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and best practices related to accessible technology.

Ability to work with and/or learn multiple platforms including Android, IOS, Google, Microsoft, etc.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility and manage multiple priorities.

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, staff and faculty in a diverse work environment.

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
