POSITION:
The person appointed to this position will teach in the area of TESOL. Additional duties will include advising and curriculum/program development in our TESOL programs, which include a concentration in the English major, a concentration for Liberal Studies majors, a certificate program, and a concentration in the English MA. Other duties may include collaboration with local schools and language programs. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. in English, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or other TESOL-related disciplines is required. Other minimum qualifications include experience teaching English to multicultural students and English language learners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A candidate's consideration will be enhanced by providing evidence of work with a diverse student population and relevant research and publication. As a department in a designated Hispanic-Serving Institution, we seek candidates with experience teaching and mentoring historically underrepresented students.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE

The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees, current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities, and current employees assigned new duties.
