Endocrinolgy Program Director
The UTRGV School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine is seeking an Endocrinologist to serve as the Program Director and develop the Endocrinology Fellowship Program. Applicant must have an M.D. degree or equivalent, from an approved LCME or ECFMG medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program and Board Certified/Eligible in Endocrinology. Must have 5 years’ experience as active faculty in a residency/fellowship program. Candidate must be eligible for Texas medical licensure.
The Departmental goal is to expand the clinical practice across the Rio Grande Valley and develop outstanding educational and scholarly activities for medical students, a growing Internal Medicine program, and a future Endocrinology Fellowship. Demonstration of strong commitment to the education of residents and medical students is essential. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.Minimum Qualifications

performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive
and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code
§51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of
Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement
Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week
and at least 135 days in length.
