Position Summary

● Teach courses in the low-incidence disabilities programs, which prepare preservice teachers to work with individuals with moderate/severe disabilities and autism spectrum disorder in P-12 school classrooms
● Supervise practicum students and student teachers in field placements
● Provide instruction and support to assist students in successful completion of edTPA
● Participate in the ongoing development and revision of the existing low-incidence teacher preparation programs
● Contribute to department, college, university, and professional service
● Appointment will be for 9 months, renewable on an annual basis. Additional opportunities for summer employment may be available.

Additional Requirements

● Terminal degree in special education or a related field
● Minimum one year or more experience in a P-12 special education classroom
● One or more years of experience in college teaching
● One or more years of experience in supervision of preservice teachers in special education classrooms

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

● One or more years of experience with the edTPA process
● One or more years of experience with individuals with severe, profound, and multiple disabilities
