Under the auspices of the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Marketing Department is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of internal and external programs that promote CCC's mission, programs, and special events. CCC Marketing is an in-house creative center offering solutions to all marketing and communication needs, working with offices and departments across the District to tell CCC’s story to a wide range of audiences, both internal and external. The department’s mission is to preserve and strengthen the reputation and brand of City Colleges of Chicago through a variety of communication mediums including print, digital, video, and social.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE 
Under the direction of the Director of Digital Strategy, the Front-End Web Designer supports digital marketing initiatives through effective front-end design, ensuring CCC digital properties are brand-complaint, cutting-edge, and mobile-first. Performs related duties as required. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 
•Creates, designs, and develops digital assets to support interactive campaigns including e-mail, micro-sites, landing pages, web pages, animations, and other projects with an eye to keep designs on-brand and mobile-first.  •Works closely with Marketing and Creative teams (with an emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, and iterative feedback) to ensure that digital assets run promptly, efficiently and effectively to provide the best value and results.  •Supports web design projects, in various platforms (SharePoint, WordPress as a CMS, e-mail systems, Portal) and work closely with cross-functional working groups across CCC. •Creates and analyzes web analytics reports. Makes recommendations for improvement. Provides reporting support as needed.  •Keeps abreast of emerging front-end technology, making recommendations for improvement. •Performs other duties as assigned.


QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS 
•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Graphics/Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media or a related field. •1-3 years of work experience •A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, Photoshop and Dreamweaver with an emphasis on responsive design, mobile-first UI/UX. •Proficiency designing high-fidelity wireframes in Photoshop and converting them into HTML/CSS •Experience designing and coding responsive e-mail templates •Intermediate knowledge of Bootstrap. Experience with jQuery/JavaScript a plus •Intermediate knowledge of Google Analytics, setting up analytics dashboards and reporting on trends. •Advanced proficiency in WordPress. Basic PHP knowledge a plus •Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and general QA (Quality Assurance) work along with cross-browser compatibility testing. Familiarity adhering to ADA/WCAG guidelines •Knowledge of traditional print production (Use of InDesign, Illustration, PowerPoint, and Word templates)  •Must be computer proficient with knowledge of a variety of software programs.  •Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills •Excellent organizational and administrative skills  •Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body and staff  •Ability to work effectively with different levels of staff within the organization •Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire
