Job Description

The appointment includes teaching, participating in departmental meetings in the Department of Arts and Humanities within the College of Arts & Sciences, completing required training modules, and fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of teaching personnel.

The College of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications from qualified candidates for part-time, non-tenure-track adjunct faculty in sociology. Specialization is open, but experience with online and hybrid instructional formats is preferred. Applicants will be contacted according to departmental needs. Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes. Flexible to suit course schedule.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Sociology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Sociology or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • College or University teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching online and hybrid formats.
  • Familiarity with non-traditional commuter University setting.
  • Experience in culturally diverse settings.

Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, three original letters of recommendation less than one year old and bearing the writer's actual signature, as well as official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be received directly by the Search Committee Chair:
