General Statement of Duties:
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) seeks qualified applicants for a hands- on internship to assist with a wide breadth of conference duties. This internship for stipend and possible academic credit is located at the conference's office in Westfield, Massachusetts. This opportunity is intended for professional development of a female/ethnic minority applicant for a minimum of eight months practical experience. Depending on qualifications, this position is focused on furthering knowledge and skills in such areas as the administration, finance, championships, grants, media relations and other duties as assigned for an NCAA Division III Athletic Conference Office.

Internship length: The internship is for two semesters. The intern's schedule will be developed based on the intern's availability and needs of the conference.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential:

  • Depending on the candidate, the intern will assist in such areas as administrative tasks, finance, conference championships, grant work, media relations and other duties as assigned.
  • The intern will assist with creating and updating conference record books.






Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be a self-starter whom possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
  • Candidates must be available to work select weekends and nights.
  • Candidates should have one academic year of experience in a collegiate athletics office, conference operations or sports information office setting as a student assistant or an intern.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • It is preferred that the intern is a graduate student. Undergraduate students with experience in a conference office or collegiate athletics department will also be considered for the internship.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, publication software (Adobe InDesign and Photoshop) is also preferred.
