DescriptionReporting to the Executive Director of the Institute on Disabilities, and also receives additional supervision from the Director of Budget and Research Administration of the College of Education, the Associate Director of Finance and Administration leads all aspects of the financial operations of the Institute on Disabilities and supports as needed, the Research Administration unit in the College of Education.   
The Associate Director provides expertise, guidance, and timely and accurate support to principal investigators (PIs) while working with sponsors and Temple University administrators regarding the submission of grants and contract proposals.  The Associate Director independently performs highly complex work, such as managing pre- and post- award grants and contracts;  supervising and participating in the preparation of various budgets, financial statements, and reports; directing the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, and operating expenses; establishing system controls for new financial systems and developing procedures to improve existing systems; collaborating with the College of Education administrative staff and participating as a member and manager of the College's sponsored project administration team; liaising with constituent groups within and outside the University;  and promoting the Institute on Disabilities at the College, University, State, and National levels. 
Additional responsibilities include personnel management; assisting the Executive Director and other senior staff with grant-related activities; representing the Institute in the absence of the Executive Director; and serving as a member of the senior management team of the Institute on Disabilities.  
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field and at least 6 years directly related experience including work experience in a senior or managerial level in the grant management field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.   
Required Skills & Abilities:*Demonstrated analytical skills*Ability to work with large financial data sets.*Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet and database software programs.*Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.*Demonstrated management skills, including planning, negotiation, supervisory, and communication skills.*Excellent interpersonal skills*Ability to interact with diverse constituent groups.*Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines. *Ability to travel state and nationwide occasionally.*Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Preferred:*Master's degree in finance or a related field.*Fiscal experience in an academic environment or institute of higher education*Knowledge of government and non-government funding agencies’ policies and procedures and Uniform Guidance.*Experience in the field of disability or education*Knowledge of ERA and other Financial systems*Prior experience working with various funding institutions (Foundation, State, Federal) This is a grant funded position.This position requires a background check
