Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Plans and teaches courses which fulfill the program's curriculum goals and objectives.

Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology.

Maintains posted office hours in accordance with departmental and College policies.

Employs appropriate methods of assessment to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.

Participates in monthly PTA Program meeting.

Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner.

Determines and submits students' grades in accordance with established College policies and procedures.

Supports the mission of the program, division, and College.

Provides guidance and expertise to other program, adjunct or clinical faculty as needed.

PROGRAM AREA RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adjunct faculty will provide instruction to students in PTA program's didactic and laboratory-based courses. Adjunct faculty will work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
Other Skills and Abilities:•Demonstrated ability to work with a diversity of students including students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
•Ability to teach in a variety of content areas related to the practice of physical therapy.
•Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations.
•Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
•Effective problem solving skills.
•Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technologies (e.g., MS Word, Excel, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills.
•Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
•Ability to work a combination of days/evening/weekend schedules.
Required Education and/or Work Experience:•Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy or Associate's degree in physical therapist assistant from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapist (PT) or physical therapist assistant (PTA) program required; Master's degree or higher in physical therapy or Recognition of Advanced Proficiency in a relevant specialty for a PTA preferred.
•Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PT or PTA in the state of Ohio within one year required.
•2 years of experience of clinical practice or experience in teaching in a physical therapist assistant or physical therapist program required.
•Experience in a variety of areas of teaching required (academic, clinical, continuing education, in-service).
•Experience with instructional technologies and learning management systems preferred.
•2 years of experience as a Clinical Instructor or Center Coordinator of Clinical Education preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
•Licensed PT or PTA in the state of Ohio or eligible for licensure and obtained within one year from date of employment.
