Job Description:

The Department of Biological Sciences (http://www.binghamton.edu/biology/) at Binghamton University is seeking candidates for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor who will strengthen the University's research focus in Immunology and Cell Biology. The position will start in the 2020 academic year. Areas of research interest may include host-microbe interactions, immune response to pathogens or the microbiome, study of immune disorders resulting from bacterial infections, and the interplay between genetics, the environment, and the human immune system. Applicants whose research integrates with existing Departmental foci on "Infectious Disease", "Genetic and Molecular Interactions", and "Global Change Biology" as well as the University's Health Science Initiative will be preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an extramurally funded, independent research program and develop productive collaborations.

The successful candidate will participate in teaching courses in Cell Biology, Immunology, and areas related to their field of specialization as well as mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.


Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology or a related field, and Postdoctoral experience.
