POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Study Coordinator manages research project activities ensuring the quality and integrity of data collection, recruitment and enrollment of study subjects. This position may also assist Principal Investigator and/or Senior Research Coordinator with educating and implementation activities associated with of various research studies.

List of Responsibilities 

  • Work with PI and Senior Research Coordinator to implement study protocols and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed, including tracking new measures.
  • Manage data collection and reporting, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
  • Develop appropriate progress reports for the PI and Senior Research Coordinator.
  • Arrange meetings and conference calls with study partners; develop meeting agendas, and record meeting information.
  • Participate in all required sponsor calls, site visits and requests for data and information.
  • Process and track all payments to study participants using Greenphire software system.
  • Manage the collection of data from importable and exportable formats for rapid dissemination to PIs and sponsors.
  • Scope of Responsibility

    Interact with UNC Research team to understand and implement study protocols.

    Function as a key member of AAP research and program staff to ensure cross collaboration and effective communication.

    Will provide input to the PI and Senior Research Coordinator relative to the management of research studies.

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree and (1) one to 3 (three) years of research-related experience with at least one (1) of the three years including experience in HIV research with adolescents and LGBT youth.
  • Be up-to-date on all required research trainings and certifications (Citi, GCP, etc.)
  • Skill and Competencies

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to apply technology to resolve problems.
  • Outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail are essential. Must be able manage competing priorities.
  • Can be relied upon to ensure that activities within areas of specific responsibility are completed in a timely manner and within budget
  • Outline project goals and timelines and reviews progress at defined intervals.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essential.
  • Proven ability to work with youth ages 13 to 24 years old.
