Description:
The Particle/Field/String Theory Group at the University of Washington invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar (research associate) position starting in Autumn 2020.
The position will be for three years, subject to funding and mutual agreement. The Postdoctoral Scholar title is limited to five years, including postdoctoral experience(s) at UW and other institutions.
Faculty members in the group are Andreas Karch, Steve Sharpe, and Laurence Yaffe. We have strong ties to the nuclear theory group and Institute for Nuclear Theory at the University of Washington, as well as experimental groups in hadron collider physics and particle astrophysics.
Applicants will be considered in all areas of particle physics, including phenomenology, lattice field theory, quantum field theory, string theory, and particle cosmology. Review of applications will begin on or after December 1.
Postdoctoral Scholars are represented by UAW 4121 and are subject to the collective bargaining agreement, unless agreed exclusion criteria apply. For more information, please visit the University of Washington Labor Relations website.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in particle physics, or a related field, by the date of appointment.
