Departmental Overview

Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) is comprised of six (6) Regions which provide services to specific "groupings/clusters" of schools, colleges, and organized research units (5 academic, 1 all other). This regional approach to providing administrative services is intended to improve service quality by re-establishing personal connections and to develop more local expertise.

The Professional Schools region (ProS) serves the University Extension, Berkeley Law, Goldman School of Public Policy, Haas School of Business, School of Optometry, School of Public Health, Graduate School of Education, School of Social Welfare and the School of Journalism.

Responsibilities
  • Enters employee information into UCPath (PeopleSoft) system for new hires, change of status, terminations, etc, ensuring that the data is correct and consistent.
  • Collaborates with HR/AP Partners, HR Generalists, Payroll, and clients to research more complex department-related and employee issues.
  • May provide employees with standard information regarding department and organizational HR practices and procedures as they relate to the HCM system.
  • Manages sensitive and confidential information.
  • Manages customer management cases and tasks related to designated clients.
  • Runs reports on department staff for department managers and supervisors.
  • May be assigned special projects for professional development.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR processes for data entry into HR Information Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience auditing and entering data effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and procedures for maintenance and purging of personnel files.
  • General knowledge of benefits eligibility requirements.
  • Knowledge of EEO and affirmative action reporting requirements.
  • Ability to gain knowledge of job posting procedures.
  • Skill in managing sensitive and confidential information regarding bargaining unit issues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience.

Other Information

This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Clerical & Allied Services Unit (CX) between the University of California and Teamsters Local 2010.
