University Development and Alumni Relations, formerly named University Relations, increases support for and enhances knowledge of UC Berkeley through communications, public outreach, and fundraising. The department is responsible for centralized fundraising and donor engagement, and works to strengthen unit development offices by consulting and partnering with campus fundraisers. University Development and Alumni Relations also handles a range of central activities and services encompassing events, communications, stewardship, prospect development, gift management, database management, and more.

University Development and Alumni Relations encompasses the UC Berkeley Foundation (UCBF), a California nonprofit public benefit corporation established to secure support for the University. The UCBF is also Cal's primary vehicle for enlisting fundraising volunteers from the private sector. The UCBF is staffed by University Development and Alumni Relations leadership.

In April 2019, the College of Letters & Science College Relations division and University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) formed a partnership to provide greater collaboration and coordination of advancement strategy and services as the University embarks on the largest capital campaign in its history.

The program analyst in UDAR's Constituent Programs group will manage communications, logistics, and operations for the College of Letters & Science Advisory Board and support the College's Executive Dean and the AVC for Constituent Programs in their board outreach and stewardship. The College of Letters & Science Advisory Board is a volunteer group of leaders in industry, government, and academia who are deeply committed to the mission of the College. Already an active group, this board will be expanding its engagement with the College in FY2020 and will require a high-performing individual to serve as the central point of contact and coordination for all activities and communications.

Reporting to the Senior Manager for Communications and Outreach in Constituent Programs, the program analyst will interact with the L&S Executive Dean, AVC for Constituent Programs, L&S board co-chairs, and board members to devise and execute a high-touch, organized, and customized meeting strategy for the L&S Advisory Board and its individual members. The analyst may also collaborate with deans and assistant deans in L&S's five academic divisions, as well as internal and external subject matter experts, in developing content for board meetings and working groups. This position engages with UDAR and L&S administration and some of the University's most significant donors and influential partners at the highest levels, and demands excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, analysis and reporting skills, and the highest levels of tact and confidentiality.
