General Description / Primary Purpose

The Assistant Director Academic Support Services, under the direction of an Associate Director or above, plays an integral role in the design, development, implementation and interpretation of departmental processes and/or programs.

Essential Duties

Job Function

The Assistant Director will provide support to Transportation and Logistics Flagship program faculty, its program directors and its students. The Assistant Director will be a primary point of contact on issues related to academic information, recruitment, internships, scholarships, community outreach, the Transportation and Logistics Society, off-campus events, executive education, logistics seminars, and other non-classroom-based activities which advance the program and projects associated with Flagship funding.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions.

Faculty Position Required QualificationsDepartmental Requirements

Preference shown to applicants who meet the required qualifications and also possess the following:
-An educational and/or professional background in Transportation & Logistics.
-Proven commitment to the profession through a track record of professional engagement, professional certification, and other areas of involvement that demonstrate enthusiasm for the growth of T&L.
-Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and convey information correctly and appropriately in written format.
-Strong oral communication skills, including public speaking skills, i.e., the ability to talk to others and convey information effectively, including in group settings.
-Demonstrated critical thinking proficiency, including using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
-High tolerance for ambiguity and demonstrated ability to adjust actions and activities to suit the situation at hand.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Work Excel and Powerpoint
-Digital marketing skills, including creation and posting of digital marketing content preferred.
-Graphic design capabilities preferred.
-Prefer familiarity with UNF administrative systems such as Concur.
-Some travel is required.
