On-Call Bus Driver
Under general supervision by the Transportation manager and scheduling coordinator for vehicles, this person operates a university bus or van to university related functions.This person shall perform routine inspection of bus before operation.
Reports to the Manager of Transportation
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:·High School Diploma ·Possession of a valid Indiana Class D driver’s license ·Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), classes B.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:·Drives bus or van to transport passengers to and from university related functions. ·Makes pre-trip inspection of bus once or more daily in compliance with state regulations. ·Assist in loading and unloading of passengers and belongings. ·Keep vehicle and passenger log in compliance with state regulations. ·Obeys all traffic laws. ·Reports all accidents and completes required reports. ·Checks the interior of the bus after each trip for abandoned or lost articles. ·Wear seat belt at all times. ·Reports immediately to mechanic any mechanical problems observed in motor, chassis, or body. ·Completes university trip log. ·Completes state mandated driver’s log. ·Perform minor and simple repairs on vehicles in the event of a breakdown. ·Stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting, sitting. ·Heavy visual acuity ·Employee is required to sit for long periods of time. ·Possession and full normal use of both hands, feet, both legs, both eyes, and both ears. ·May be required to work overtime as directed by supervision.
