Description:

GGC invites applicants for Assistant Professor faculty positions in Psychology starting August 1, 2020.

Applicants should hold a doctorate degree and have one or more years of college-level teaching experience in Psychology, with a preference for those specializing in Developmental Psychology. Preference will also be given to those with quantitative training who can teach Statistics, Research Methods, or both. Applicants should also provide three letters of recommendation or the contact information for three professional references.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of lower-division and upper-division courses in the applicant's specialization, as well as some subset of core psychology courses such as Introduction to Psychology and Writing in Psychology. Other related duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring is expected of all faculty).

In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive 3 or 5 year renewable appointments or one year traditional appointments may also be approved. For more information about our college, please visit our website at www.ggc.edu.

. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate degree (Ph.D.)
  • One year or more of teaaching experience at a college or university.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two or more years of teaching experience at a college or university.
  • Quantitative training in and ability to teach Statistics, Research Methods, or both.
  • Developmental Psychology specialty.
