Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the design of courses in the Exercise Science major, with a specific focus on Health Promotion. Preference will be given to candidates qualified to teach various courses throughout the exercise science curriculum, including: Exercise Testing and Prescription, Anatomy and Physiology, and courses within the Wellness Promotion concentration. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring (advising and mentoring is expected of all faculty). Other related duties are as assigned. In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive three or five year renewable appointments or one year traditional appointments may also be approved. - A doctorate degree (Ph.D). Doctorate or appropriate terminal degree required before the start date of the Fall 2020 semester.
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of CHES certification, who have a background in health promotion, and experiential learning and/or community involvement. Strong consideration will be given to those who have a Masters’ degree in Public Health, and have ACSM or NSCA-CSCS credentials.
