Nature of Work

Lead the Programming Board in planning programs and events for the campus community.

This is a 19½ hour per week maximum, part-time student position reporting to the Director of Campus Center and Student Life. The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Student employees are not to work during scheduled class times, even if classes are cancelled or dismissed early.

Essential Duties
  • Extends excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students and visitors
  • Prepares documentation for meetings such as presentations, minutes and agendas
  • Upholds the programming board constitution
  • Assists with the development of events and programs including but not limited to: contract negotiation, performer research, budget management, volunteer coordination and enforce campus and event policies and procedures.
  • Creates various brochures, flyers, forms and surveys
  • Prepares semi-annual reports for the Office of Student Life
  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the Office of Student Life
  • Runs errands on campus
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Training

College Work Study eligible persons will have received an Award Letter in Coast and will need to upload that letter to the documents area when applying to this job. Follow the instruction in the “Special Instructions to Applicant” area to locate your Award Letter.
Additional Requirements are:

  • Must be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours
  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Must possess programming and event management skills
  • Must be dependable and available for evening and weekend programming
  • Must have knowledge of general office equipment
Preferred Qualifications and Training
  • Demonstrates excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Ability to concurrently handle both co-/extra-curricular and curricular assignments
