General Summary
The Eastern Michigan University Department of Music & Dance invites applications for a Part-time Lecturer - Artist/Teacher of Euphonium/Tuba. This appointment will begin in the Fall 2019 semester.
The EMU School of Music & Dance prepares successful music students from nationally recognized, NASM accredited programs. Music programs include Music Education, Music Therapy, Performance, and Bachelor of Arts.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach applied euphonium and tuba to a studio of undergraduate and graduate majors and minors. Additional duties include recruiting and performing/teaching at various department events. Further consideration may be given to those with the ability to teach or assist in other academic areas as determined by candidate expertise.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Master of Music degree or equivalent (preferably in euphonium or tuba performance) and significant applied low brass teaching experience. The successful candidate should have an established record of public performance. College or university teaching experience is desirable.
