The Computer Science department at the University of Southern Maine (usm.maine.edu/cos) invites applicants for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. Teaching responsibilities typically include core computer science courses and advanced courses related to the candidate’s area of expertise.

Information science has been identified as a key area for growth by the Maine government and the university is investing in research and instruction to meet the need. Criteria for tenure include scholarship publishable in scientific, peer-reviewed outlets. It is highly desirable to engage students in research projects and activities. The university provides incentives and assistance for the preparation of grant applications and article submissions.

The USM Service Promise is “Student Focused Every Day” and we are looking for a faculty member who shares the commitment to that and to its associated practices of respect & care, integrity, equity and responsiveness.
