The Department of Physics at the University of Virginia is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to do computational work in condensed matter physics and materials science.

The successful candidate will work on the theoretical modeling and numerical simulations of strongly correlated electron systems, with emphasis on large-scale dynamical simulations. The focus will be on the combination of many-body techniques (e.g. dynamical mean-field theory, quantum Monte Carlo simulations, etc) with the modern machine learning methods. Demonstrated experience in machine learning and related data science background will be highly favored.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. degree in Physics or closely related field is required by the appointment start date. Strong coding ability and computational experience are required. Candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills.
