DescriptionJob Purpose: Perform basic level system analysis, definition and design for new software applications. Modify and maintain existing applications.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Participate in system analysis, definition and design.
  • Develop, test and implement technical solutions.
  • Modify and maintain existing applications.
  • Prepare technical, operational and user related documentation in support of applications.
  • Provide technical support and training to functional users
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 
Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work Experience: Up to two years of job related experience.
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Skills: This job requires basic skills in application of query language, web development tools, procedural development tools, relational databases, structured programming and understanding of the software development life cycle.

  • Preferred Skills:
    • Working knowledge and skills in the application of query language, web development tools, procedural development tools, relational databases, structured programming and understanding of the software development life cycle. 
    • Software developer for design, build and support of business applications for the institute. This person must have web-application experience in J2EE and relational database environment.

    • Must have Skill Set:
    • Java and J2EE.
    • Object-Oriented Design, Analysis and Programming.
    • Spring 3.x, JSP and JDBC
    • JQuery, AngularJS 1.x
    • JavaScript, CSS
    • Oracle Relational Databases and SQL
    • Web application server -Tomcat
    • Use of source control systems like Subversion or GIT and working in a team development environment
    • Windows and UNIX OS
    • Integrated Development Environment (prefer Eclipse).
    • Use of open source products/tools
    • Must be able to work independently in an agile development environment   
Additional Information:

Impact & Influence: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: other software developers and analysts, project managers, database administrators, customers and department management. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
