Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible forensuring high quality and continuity in the provision of comprehensive primarymedical care services. The RMA/CMA is utilized in performing typical front andback office clinical functions. The RMA/CMA is under the overall on-sitesupervision of the clinic supervisor.

Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood bornepathogens.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger,grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
-High school diploma/GED
-At least six (6) months previous front and back office experience in a healthclinic setting or equivalent experience required
-Currently Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
-Current CPR certification

RMA/CMA must have knowledgeof all areas related to clinic workflow. RMA/CMA will have excellent customerservice skills, good communication skills, and ability to multi-task whileproviding good patient care. Good computer skills and ability to learn newcomputer systems as needed. Primary skills include verbal and writtencommunication with patients to promote continuity of care and follow-up as wellas daily retrieval and scanning/filing of clinical encounter forms and reportsfor use by clinic staff during patient care activities.

Oklahoma State University-Center for Health Sciences was founded in 1972 and is home to the College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as graduate programs in forensics, biomedicine, healthcare and athletic training.   Our core business is education; and it takes more than 500 faculty and staff members to run our institution.  Our mission is to educate and train osteopathic physicians, research scientists and other healthcare professionals with an emphasis on serving rural and underserved Oklahomans.  We offer more than 10 different specialty clinics to care for patients in the area.
