Work is primarily indoors. Physical conditions include light work but may involve exerting up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally to move computers, peripherals, and related furniture or equipment.

Duties of Position

Assists in the Employee Technical Skills Training sessions for the use of technology used at the College.

Assists with reviewing and updating in-house training material provided by Information Technology. Assists with collecting, maintaining, and reporting of operational statistics as needed.

Utilizes the ticketing system to document and prioritize work. Completes work on assigned tickets and tasks, documents, tracks, and monitors the work to ensure timely resolution. Communicates with end-user(s) and manager to provide status on requests. Assists in the testing and reviewing of hardware/software and operating systems used at Harper College.

Provides computer technology support by utilizing knowledge of software, hardware, operating systems, and network environments used in the computer classrooms, open labs, offices, and other College settings.

Assists with projects as needed.

Assists with training, awareness, and support of information security activities.

Performs related duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

High school graduate with related college level course work; Associate degree in computer science preferred. Familiarity/exposure to the computer languages and the software packages supported at the College.

Experience Requirements

Two years’ of experience with PC hardware, printers, software, and networks required. Familiarity with the installation of software; knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems; some experience with spreadsheets, database and word processing packages also needed. Must have the ability/aptitude to learn new software and applications.
