Assistant Professor of Information Technology
Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC) seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Information Technology, Tenure-Track position, beginning August 2020. Ph.D. in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field at the time of appointment is required. ABDs with a reasonable likelihood of degree completion prior to hiring may also apply.
Mount Saint Mary College’s Information Technology program offers an undergraduate degree in Information Technology with concentrations in Web Development, Networking, Cybersecurity and Educational Technology. Mount Saint Mary College is also offering a new program, Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, beginning Fall 2020.
Candidates should be capable of teaching both intro level courses as well as upper level courses in the areas of web development, networking and cybersecurity with a strong background in networking, digital forensics and digital cryptography. Additionally, the candidate is expected to teach college service courses such as computer literacy.
Mount Saint Mary College places a priority on excellent teaching, dedication to scholarship and student engagement, and service to the college and community. In addition to teaching 12 credit hours of course work each semester, faculty members are expected to maintain active participation in research, provide academic advisement for students, and be involved in college governance. The committee is looking for candidates who can demonstrate innovative teaching and an interest in undergraduate research.
