Salary: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 (Commensurate with Experience)

General Statement of Duties:
This position consists of a 4/4-course teaching load in Interpreting Studies and all levels of the Spanish language curriculum. The selected candidate must also be committed to shouldering the responsibilities of a small department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:

  • Teach 4/4 course load in Interpreting Studies and all levels of the Spanish language curriculum.
  • Develop curriculum in Interpreting Studies, including a post-baccalaureate certificate program in Interpreting for Spanish Speakers.
  • Mentor and advise majors, minors, and undeclared students.
  • Participate actively in the day-to-day running of a small department, including general curriculum development and assessment, committee work, student recruitment, etc.

Qualifications Required

  • Ph.D. in Spanish, Interpreting Studies, or a related field.
  • Certification and/or professional experience in medical/healthcare and/or court interpreting.
  • Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Experience teaching online courses.
