Job Description:

The Department of Sociology, Egyptology and Anthropology (SEA) at the American University in Cairo (AUC) is seeking to recruit adjunct faculty members in the field of sociology for the Spring 2020 semester. The candidate should have a strong background in Middle East and Arab World Studies, with special focus in at least one of the following areas: community development and/or family dynamics. The candidates may teach one or more of the following undergraduate courses: Arab Society, Social Problems in the Middle East, Arab Family; Structure and Dynamics and/or Community Development related courses.


Commitment to teaching and engagement of students, as well as service to the Unit and the Department are necessary. An active research and practice agenda is recommended. Candidates can be at the level of MA or MS, PhD degree holders.
