The School of Teacher Preparation, Administration and Leadership invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Bilingual/TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) to begin in Fall 2020. The School of TPAL is devoted to the preparation of master educators, administrators and leaders for public, private and governmental institutions. Graduates are prepared to serve as teachers, directors of instruction and curriculum, subject matter specialists, supervisors of student teaching, educational leaders and university professors.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in bilingual/TESOL education; serve as faculty advisor; develop a strong research agenda that is consistent with the mission of the School of TPAL, college and university; pursue external funding; demonstrate evidence of successful scholarship and creative activity; supervise undergraduate and graduate student field experiences (practica and internships); and exhibit a commitment to service to the School of TPAL, College, and University.

Required Qualifications: 1) A Doctoral degree in bilingual, TESOL education or a related field; 2) must be fluent bilingual and able to speak, write, and teach university courses in Spanish and English; 3) a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in preK-12 bilingual-TESOL educational settings; 4) an establish or strong potential for Bilingual-TESOL, related research, including external funding.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Experience teaching undergraduate/graduate students; 2) experience using Learning Management Systems for blended or online course delivery (e.g. Canvas); 3) experience in fostering community and public school/university partnerships; 4) desire and dispositions to work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
