Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, Auxiliary Enterprises, responsible for all Facilities Services functions in the Campus Center/Student Union Complex and Old Chapel, including routine and preventative maintenance, safety and security, facility scheduling and setups, custodial, telecommunications, audio visuals, electrical services, information services, and the servicing of all events. The Senior Manager is responsible for all planning, organizing, and coordination of all departmental activities within the established budgetary guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for devising new and innovative approaches, policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of the department as well as of the services provided by the Campus Center/Student Union Complex. Establish standards for safety, quality, and cleanliness of the facility, as well as the preventative maintenance program. Oversee the design and specifications for renovations and new facilities. Prepare capital and operating expenditure budgets for all building systems and equipment while ensuring the budget remains within approved allocations.
  • Work in conjunction with the Physical Plant Department to organize and prepare proposals, approve contract awards and work as Project Coordinator with contractors, making all final decisions on inspections of projects. Maintain working relationships with Campus Center/Student Union and Auxiliary Enterprises departments, other campus departments and non-campus contractors.
  • Responsible for maintaining and evaluating custodial programs and making recommendations for such.
  • Responsible for departmental recordkeeping, purchasing service equipment, department inventory and authorizing repairs.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training and evaluating of staff and other appropriate personnel actions in accordance with University policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the entire planning and event servicing functions of this 24/7 Campus Center/Student Union Complex.
  • Maintain and updates knowledge of current trends and developments through conferences, trainings, seminars and workshops, periodicals, trade journals, magazines, and professional associations.
  • Work with all other department managers within the complex to coordinate event-planning, service interruptions and all other major activities within the Campus Center/Student Union Complex.   • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in Management, Business or Engineering or related area with six or more years’ experience in facility operations and maintenance management.

  • Ability to work independently and with diverse constituencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
