Reporting to the Director of Student Involvement and the Student Center, the Temporary Administrative Assistant II will be providing clerical and administrative support to the Office of Student Involvement and the Student Center. The individual will be a customer service representative for the office and the primary support for the Director. This position will problem solve with students and patrons of the Student Center, maintain calendars, create presentations and reports, and assist with general office duties. The position requires strong organizational skills, communication (both oral and written) skills, the ability to efficiently prioritize tasks, and interact with tact and diplomacy.

This is a temporary full-time position, not to exceed six months of employment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Place, answer, screen, and direct telephone call, providing information or referral as required.
  • Manage travel for Director.
  • Provide administrative support and assistance, including making appointments, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars and email.
  • Maintain confidential information and records.
  • Create presentations, reports, and forms as requested.
  • Manage front office and student assistants assigned to work in area.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of various activities or events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School or GED
  • 1-3 years of previous administrative or related experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and work under minimal supervision
  • Able to provide excellent customer service

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position may require local travel. Depending upon specific duties, position may require a College issued uniform or shirt to ensure employees engaged in representing the College to the community are clearly identified as such. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
