Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA currently has an opening for an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Center for Neurobahvaioral Genetics.

We are seeking candidates with expertise and scholarly research in Alzheimer's disease and neuroinflammation, and especially those whose research program utilizes advanced neuroimaging techniques, sophisticated genetic manipulation and multi-omics approach. A record of accomplishment of high quality research in neurodegenerative diseases and in development of high-throughput assays is requisite. The candidate is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, mentor undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students, therefore an interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching and promoting diversity and equal opportunity is essential.

A Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Neuroscience, Genetics or allied discipline is required; and demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research is vital.

Candidates must be highly motivated, have good verbal and written communication skills in English, and have experience working and collaborating with a research team. Experience supervising a research unit is desired.
