SUMMARY:

The Video Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the Athletics video department. This position is the primary coordinator for all video and technology needs for the football program. This position also provides video and technology oversight and guidance to other sports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises the daily operation of all video and technology needs for the football program.

  • Schedules and maintains the video editing room and team viewing room.
  • Utilizes the DVSport video editing system to breakdown practices and games for coaches to evaluate including analyzing game film and recognizing the formations and plays that need to be spliced for specific evaluation.
  • Coordinates the filming of all practices and competitions. (Home and Away)
  • Produces recruiting videos and other projects as requested by football staff.
  • Coordinates distribution of iPads and other technology related to viewing and editing video.

Provides video and technology oversight for all other sports.

  • Assists sport programs with the selection and procurement of video editing systems and equipment.
  • Coordinates the filming of all home competitions.

Develops and manages the video department budget.

Procures and maintains all video equipment that is utilized by sport programs within the athletic department.

  • Prepares prioritized summary of all video equipment requests on an annual basis and review with Associate Athletic Director/Business.
  • Monitors the use of all video equipment by coaches and staff and provides guidance on the proper and effective use of all equipment.
  • Manages the video equipment inventory and effectively coordinates replacement purchases as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Physical activity in transportation of video equipment for practices and competition (may include lifting up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to shoot video from an elevated angle (heights of 100 plus feet)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of video editing software programs, video equipment, and video accessories is required.
  • Experience using a film editing system (preferably DVSport) is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in college or professional sports video management

WORK HOURS

  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
  • Flexibility required to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
  • Regular travel required (team travel with football)

SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 5 (Hiring Range $37,944.00 to $50,275.00 annually)
