Position Responsibilities

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health invites applicants for a 10 month, full-time ranked faculty position beginning Summer 2020. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. The DPT Program utilizes an innovative curriculum that integrates basic and clinical sciences and incorporates traditional as well as case-based learning strategies, including tutorials. Candidates must demonstrate leadership, initiative, creativity, problem solving skills, and the ability to collaborate. The physical therapist education program at St. Catherine University began in 1991 and has enrolled Doctor of Physical Therapy students since 2003. The mission of the DPT Program is to educate students to lead and influence within the physical therapy profession. To this end, all DPT faculty members are expected to serve as role models for our students.

Responsibilities:
•Primary responsibilities include team teaching in our dynamic integrated curriculum.
•Establishment of an active research agenda.
•Involvement with ongoing curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
•Participation in student academic and research advising/mentoring; and service on department and University committees as well as to the profession.
•Numerous opportunities for collaborative research are available with other departments at St. Catherine University, as well as with other local higher education institutions, clinical partners, and healthcare institutions.

Position Qualifications

Qualifications:
•Preferred candidates will have an earned academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or DSc), or be currently enrolled in a doctoral program with ABD status and possess a minimum of three years of orthopedic/sports medicine physical therapy experience.
•Candidates with an earned DPT and ABPTS clinical specialist certification in orthopedics or sports with a minimum of five years of clinical experience will also be considered.
•All candidates must be eligible for physical therapist licensure in MN.
•Highly regarded applicants will have clinical expertise and teaching experience in orthopedic/sports physical therapy, expertise in practice management, and a commitment to pro bono service and service learning.
•The DPT Program is committed to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations is preferred.
