Position Title: Human Resources Recruiting Assistant

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Anticipated Starting Date: November 4, 2019

Starting Salary: $17.53 Hourly

The Human Resources Recruiting Assistant provides front-line support for NMC's hiring needs and beyond. This position will support human resource functions including recruitment, hiring, and orientation support for students, supplemental employees, adjunct faculty hires, and office team support. This position provides technology support and assists applicants, new hires, and hiring managers in navigating the talent software through highly detailed and organized communications.



  • Required: Associate’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in Human Resources in a team-office environment
  • Working knowledge of computers, databases, Microsoft suite, Google suite, calendaring & cloud-based software


  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in business related field
  • Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or ATS and Human Resources Certification (i.e. PHR, CHRS, SHRM-CP)


Conducts all new hire first day orientations, highlighting NMC culture, policies, and resources to deliver a consistent, positive experience for all new hires to NMC; Engages employees and answers questions to support new learners.
Manages Human Resources Recruitment mailbox and phone line with consistent and accurate communication.
Works with hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition Coordinator to maintain and update adjunct faculty, supplemental staff, and student employee job descriptions, ensuring descriptions are updated prior to posting jobs, and follow appropriate ADA and other legal guidelines for all changes.
Serves as the first line of support in troubleshooting the talent software for recruiting, onboarding, and other systems as appropriate.
Creates and updates forms and other documents both in hard copy and electronically for the website and personnel file maintaining confidentiality as appropriate..
Serves as the primary contact for the Office of Human Resources. Manages incoming inquiries and gathers essential information to identify the best path to resolution. Exercises discretion in obtaining and providing factual and confidential information related to office and College operations in accordance with the NMC policies and HR procedures.
Creates reports and assists with data requests. May provide backup payroll support for data entry and corrections for supplemental staff and student employees, examines employee records for accuracy and updates as appropriate.
Sets up, maintains, and closes job posting files in accordance with record retention guidelines. Conducts pre-employment testing of final candidates using online software, and conducts criminal background checks using third party vendors.
Handles interview arrangements for final candidates, including web interviews, travel arrangements and accommodations as needed.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
Monday- Friday
8 am - 5 pm
